I feature a wonderful blend of Photojournalistic and elegant Traditional imaging, capturing the full emotion of your wedding day in black and white and vibrant color. We are a full time wedding photography studio with over 20 years of experience professionally photographing weddings which has grown mostly by word of mouth referrals from extremely satisfied brides and grooms. We form very strong relationships with our clients as we make their experience fun and enjoyable. Unlike some studios that use several different photographers, I photograph every wedding personally to ensure that you are getting the professional quality that you expect for that special day. Along with wedding photography, I also do all types of portrait photography, engagement photos, family portraits, children's portraits, high school seniors, and even the family pet.
Frequently Asked Wedding Photography Questions:
1. How many hours of wedding coverage will we receive on the wedding day?
A. J. Mills Photography does not charge by the hour. All of our weekend wedding packages are full coverage. We start where the bride is getting ready, and are there until either the last dance or 11:00pm, which ever comes first. We have no restrictions on movement from one location to another.
2. What type of equipment is used?
We use the latest in Hi-Tech digital equipment, starting with two Canon 5D Mark II's - 21 megapixel cameras and a Canon 5D as a backup and 3rd camera. Lenses: Canon 70-200 2.8 IS2, Canon 24-105 F4 with image stabilizer, Canon 120-3002.8 for low light situations, Canon fish eye lens 2.8, aIid a variety of others. Five 580EX flashes with power packs to give 1.5 second recycle time.
3. Does your company carry liability insurance?
Yes, we are covered by liability insurance.
4. Do you charge for travel?
We do not charge for travel when shooting a wedding within a 100 mile radius of Sarasota.
5. Can my wedding proofs be viewed on your website?
Yes, we post all of the wedding images on our website for family and friends to view/ purchase. They are password protected for your privacy.
6. Is black and white photography extra?
There is no extra charge for black and white photography.
7. Are your wedding proofs marked or stamped?
No. Wedding proofs are fine quality photographs with no markings on the front, however, they are numbered and copyrighted on the back.
8. Who pays for shipping, and how is it shipped?
We provide free packaging and handling. The shipping is paid by the customer.
9. How much time is required for the taking of formal pictures?
Formal pictures usually require app. one hour, depending on the size of the wedding party, and the organization.
10. Should I make a list of desired photos for the wedding photographer?
A photo list is not necessary unless you have combinations of family photos that exceed immediate family. We will always shoot up to immediate family & grandparents without a list.
11. Can I customize a wedding package?
Yes, we will customize any of our wedding packages to meet your individual needs.
12. How do I reserve my date?
To reserve your wedding date, a $600 deposit is required. Once we have received a deposit for that date, the date is no longer available. Due to the fact that we only book one wedding a day. We accept all major credit cards, personal check, or cash.
13. Does the wedding photographer require a meal?
Yes, the photographer definitely works up an appetite photographing the events. A meal is greatly appreciated. We prefer to be included into the seating arrangement, to ensure that we are seated within the room of the reception. If not, we may miss important speeches and happenings.
14. When is the final balance due?
A. J. Mills Photography requires that the final payment be made two weeks prior to the wedding date. Payment can be made by all major credit cards, check or cash.
15. Can I see examples of your work?
Although you can view the photos on our website, they don't show the true quality of our work. We encourage you to take the time to make an appointment with us in person to meet with us and to view our work first hand.
